Mosseltrap is a gem of a beach house, unsurpassed location and totally secluded. At your doorstep is the miles of undisturbed golden beach of the Atlantic Ocean.
Apart from the beautiful location is the interior absolute fabulous, it has everything you need to enjoy your off the grid stay. You can enjoy a braai inside on those cold and rainy days or braai outside. The braai is enclosed with fishermens nets, it gives you the same feeling as The Strandlopertjie restaurant, very rustic but ideal for family gatherings and hours of fun around the fire. What makes this even more enjoyable is you can dig your toes in the sand, relax and enjoy the amazing sound of the ocean and wildlife around you, music for the soul.
Mosseltrap is actually the seagulls’ dance to find white mussels (donax serra) and when they do they fly up in the air and drop their catch in an attempt to break the shell.
Once in a will you may see a fishermen dancing in the shallow water at low-tide, it is not the rain dance, he is looking for mussels to use as bait to catch galjoen (South Africas’ national fish)
